Skilift Oberiberg AG installs a snowmaking system

Due to the lack of snow last winter season, the Board of Directors of Skilift Oberiberg AG asked itself the question: What next? Until now, the slopes had been covered with snow locally using two lances, but this was nowhere near enough. They then launched a project in spring 2023 with the aim of being able to provide snow for the children's area plus part of the middle ski slope below Schwändi.

The building application was submitted in September 2023 and construction work began in mid-October.
440 metres of water pipes were installed in the ground and supplemented with seven standpipe shafts. The lances can then be connected to these. The two existing lances can continue to be used and an additional one was purchased. A more powerful pump and a new compressor also had to be purchased and installed at the ski lift building.
The first priority for snowmaking is the Kinderland. If there is enough snow there, the middle piste at the Roggen ski lift will also be covered with snow.
